杨小凯(-2004年7月7日),原名杨曦光,是澳大利亚的著名华人经济学家。他原籍中国湖南。他最突出的贡献是提出新兴古典经济学与超边际分析方法和理论。
杨小凯1979年在湖南大学获得数学理学士学位;1981年在中国社会科学院获得计量经济学的硕士学位;1988年被美国普林斯顿大学授予博士学位;1990年在澳洲莫纳什大学聘为终身教授;1993年被澳洲社会科学院选为院士;1998年任哈佛大学客座教授;2000年1月成为莫纳什大学经济学系的首席教授。
1998年出版《经济学原理》一书,引起经济学界广泛关注。曾被认为是最有可能获诺贝尔经济学奖的华裔教授之一。
2004年7月7日,患肺癌去世。
巨星的陨落--纪念杨小凯 2004年7月7日,北京时间9:49分,杰出的华裔经济学家杨小凯教授辞离人世,享年56岁。 坐过十年牢,没上过大学获得博士学位,创立了国际性学派,信奉基督教,单独一 个元素也许没什么特别,由这些元素“合成”在一起的杨小凯就不能不引人注目了。 杨小凯的一生充满传奇色彩。1948年,杨小凯出生于吉林敦化,学名杨曦光,乳名小凯。16岁时,杨小凯以特殊的方式卷入了其后的“文化大革命”,当时他写了一篇《中国向何处去?》,康生因此震怒不已,要求追查这篇文章的后台。其后的结果不言而喻,从1968到1978年,年仅20岁的杨小凯在牢狱中渡过了自己的青年时代。我们不得而知,当时的杨小凯是如何克服青春的郁闷以及对未知前途的恐惧的,但我们唯一可知的是杨小凯是一个能够克服逆境的人,通过拜当时也关在牢里的二十几位教授、工程师为师,杨小凯学习了数学、英语、材料力学和机械学。他的天才也在此期间得到了体现,通过反复研读《资本论》,他发现了劳动价值论的三大缺陷,由此萌发了对古典经济学进行改造的念头,日后的“新兴古典经济学”由此诞生。颇为有趣的是,在这期间,杨小凯甚至自己用拉格朗日方法推导出“戈森第二定理”。 命运之轮是轮回的,厄运过后的杨小凯迎来了自己的春天,杨小凯因为自己年轻的身体挺过来了,虽然他的“狱友们”和“教授们”中的很多人再也未能返回自己的书房。 1978年杨小凯出狱,他在湖南大学数学系旁听了一年数学课,1980年杨小凯直接考上中国社会科学院数量经济研究所的研究生。1982年,研究生刚毕业的他到武汉大学给研究生教授数理经济学和经济控制论。在著名经济学家茅于轼的推荐下,杨小凯迅速出版了有关数理经济学和经济控制论的三本专著。 作为一个国内著名学者,杨小凯此生也许就足矣。但命运对杨小凯这个天才的补偿并不因此而满足,因缘际会之中,杨小凯认识了著名华人经济学家、普林斯顿大学教授邹至庄(G·Chow),邹至庄特别赏识杨小凯在计量经济学的经验研究方面的天赋,推荐他于1983年赴普林斯顿大学深造。在这所容纳了诺奖得主纳什(Nash,著名的“纳什均衡”的创利者,奥斯卡最佳影片《美丽心灵》即由纳什的故事改编而来。)的世界名校,杨小凯有幸师从国际贸易方面的顶尖高手迪克西特、格罗斯曼,并于1988年获得博士学位。随后杨小凯到澳大利亚莫纳什(Monash)大学任教,未及一年由讲师升为高级讲师,1992年被聘为教授。需要补充说明的是,在莫纳什大学经济系,教师要评讲师必须在国际排名前50位的经济学杂志上至少发表2篇论文,高级讲师要5篇,而副教授要10篇,教授则必须在本研究领域内排名世界前5名。从获得博士学位到正教授,杨小凯只用了四年时间,这样的人物你能说不是天才吗? 杨小凯同时还担任澳大利亚社会科学院院士,递增报酬和经济组织研究中心主任。他的论文见诸于《美国经济评论》(AER)、《政治经济学杂志》(JPE)、《发展经济学杂志》(JDE)、《经济行为与组织杂志》(JEBO)等国际一流的学报,已出版了《专业化与经济组织》、《经济学原理》等多部中英文专著。他提出和研究的新兴古典经济学与超边际分析方法和理论,被诺贝尔经济学奖得主布坎南称为当今最重要的经济学研究成果。杰弗瑞·萨克斯评论杨小凯时说“在持续了将近20年的工作中,杨小凯寻求重构基于亚当·斯密的基本洞见的一般均衡经济分析。这个洞见是:本质上,劳动分工是经济发展和增长的原动力。”这一评论在某种程度上指出了杨小凯对经济学的贡献。 辉煌也伴随着厄运,“福兮祸之所伏”这一哲理性的名言再次得到验证,处于事业巅峰状态的杨小凯2001年被确诊为肺癌晚期。早年炼狱对他身体的摧残,废寝忘食的研究工作都让杨小凯的身体不足以支撑他的伟大思想,他开始笃信基督教,每日祷告。2001年9月份时,他的整个右肺都僵硬了,讲话都很困难。也许是杨小凯的祈祷感动了上帝,奇迹出现了,杨小凯的身体居然出现好转的态势,当时甚至可以游泳、打网球,甚至玩帆船。但命运的轮回还是继续按照自己的轨迹运行,杨小凯的祈祷只能让命运之轮稍微缓慢一下而已,2004年年初,杨小凯身上被诊断为消失的肿瘤再度光顾杨小凯,这次他不再幸运,随后杨小凯远赴洛杉矶接受治疗,但一切的一切都无法挽回这位巨星的陨落。7月7日,斯人撒手人寰。 天妒英才? 天妒英才! 时间可以磨灭一切,但我们不会忘记杨小凯这位传奇人物 附件:http://community.buseco.monash.edu.au/inframarginal/column/xkyang/sc-xkyang.html杨小凯教授专题推荐几篇http://community.buseco.monash.edu.au/inframarginal/column/xkyang/papers/Simple-Chinese/sc-freedom-economics.htm自由与经济学----在北大中国经济中心网络专家论坛做客答全国各地

杨小凯,澳籍华人,院士,讲座教授
学历和学位
1988年在美国普林斯顿大学获得经济学哲学博士学位;
1981年在中国社会科学院获得数量经济学方向硕士学位;
1979年在武汉大学获得数学学士学位(相当)。
主要研究领域
数理经济学、国际贸易与经济增长、经济增长、微观经济学、制度经济学、产业组织理论等。
